Six Finger Guild
It is customary for those in the city to tie down their weapons with peace cords, connected handle to sheath. The idea is that the bond must be undone before the weapon can be drawn, thus giving one a chance to “cool off.” However, it is a common practice to use the undoing as an initial threat. The peace cords themselves are intricately braided and well-tasseled, and a good herald can tell warriors’ affiliations from their peace knots.
The Higgrose Guards uses deep blue knots, with red thrown in to denote officer rank. It is customary for visiting officers to use white cords. It should be noted that daggers are never tied unless one wants to show humility to another. In some cities, any weapon that cannot be (or is not) tied down will be confiscated by the city guard.
